James Franco and Seth
Rogen at it again, this time, The Interview. Months before the movie’s launch,
nobody was certain about whether the movie will even be launched or not due to
the threats from North Korea’s Supreme Leader, Kim Jung-Un. Why is he sending
threats to America because of this movie? Yeah, it’s about him. No, Seth Rogen
is not acting as Kim Jung-Un in the movie. Well the movie stars James Franco as
Dave Skylard, Seth Rogen as Aaron Rapaport, Lizzy Caplan as Agent Lacey and
Randall Park as Kim Jung-Un.
So, the hype is real,
but is it good? Dave Skylark is a TV host and Aaron Rapaport is his producer
and best friend. Fed up with what nonsense they’re producing, Aaron complained
to Dave about his frustrations, which made Aaron to come up with an insane idea
of interviewing the Supreme Leader of North Korea, the infamous Kim Jung-Un.
Upon contacting North Korea and proposing them the idea, they were offered an
interview in North Korea with interview question prepared by North Korea
themselves.
After a night of crazy
partying, a pretty FBI Agent, knocked at their door in the morning with Aaron
and Dave still having hangover. Agent Lacey proposed the idea of assassinating
Kim to both of them which Dave agreed even without thinking after getting ‘honey
potted’ by Agent Lacey. After the briefing and training, they then proceed to
North Korea for the interview. Before you know it, they’re driving an old
Solviet tank firing missles at trees while listening to Katy Perry.
The entire movie is
just hilarious, funny scenes everywhere, the hype was worth the wait. The movie
was very well shot, beautiful shots and angles. I rated it 9 out of 10 for the
overall performance, scenes were funny but the story was a bit disappointing as
it doesn’t meet my expectations but nevertheless still quite impressive coming
from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Dan Sterling. Well done.
