2 high school students
that missed high school prom, a cool guy and a nerd, a tall, fit and muscular
guy and a short and fat guy. Jonah hill as Schmidt and Channing Tatum as Jenko.
After high school, Schmidt Jenko went and joined the police academy and ended
up being best buddies from helping each other pass the test. After passing the
test, they got exiled to an undercover unit (21 Jump Street) for flunking as
bicycle riding cops on park petrol. Under their new captain, Dickson (Ice Cube)
they were sent to a high school as undercover because they look young and
stupid. Although they have the high school students face but they still look a
bit too old to blend in in my opinion, their face are have a little too many wrinkles
on it.
First day as
undercover, Jenko punched a gay black student and was sent into the principal’s
office. Then they mix up their identities so now they have to act in roles that
are the exact opposite of themselves. As if that wasn’t enough, they were
forced to take drugs in school to prove that they were not nargs. Wow. Well,
now that they’re back in highschool, they get to experience highschool with a
fresh start, Schmidt gets to ask a girl to prom while Jenko gets to learn like
a nerd.
Disasters after
disasters, funny scenes after funny scenes, it was quite funny but the actions,
explosions and car chases were rather boring and disappointing. Both actors
were able to play out their roles quite well, especially Channing Tatum which I
thought was too serious to act in a comedy. Overall, I rate the movie 8.5 out
of 10, penalty for the boring action scenes and for the short and predictable
plot.
